I've spent years studying human behaviour, mindset, and what actually moves people forward. One pattern shows up again and again:
The words you use are either fuelling you. Or draining you.
Most people don't notice it. But once you do, it's impossible to ignore.
There are certain words that carry weight. When you say things like "I can't," "this is unfair," "it's impossible," or "I'm stuck," you're not just describing your situation. You're reinforcing it.
This Is What I Call Victim Language
It quietly strips away your sense of control. It signals to your brain that you're at the mercy of circumstances. And your biology follows suit. You feel heavier, more fatigued, less capable. Over time, it becomes a loop.
But here's the shift.
You can choose a different operating system.
Conqueror Language
This isn't about fake positivity or pretending things are easy. It's about ownership. It's about speaking in a way that aligns your mind with progress instead of resistance.
Small shifts make a measurable difference:
Instead of "I have to" → "I get to"
Instead of "This is a problem" → "This is a challenge I'm navigating"
Instead of "I'm stuck" → "I'm in a phase of preparation"
Notice what happens when you say those out loud. There's movement. There's agency.
Rewriting the Programme
In Indoctrinated: Creating the Philosophy of YOU!, I talk about the idea that we're all running an internal programme. A belief system that's been shaped over years. Most of it isn't even ours.
Your vocabulary is one of the fastest ways to rewrite that programme.
Because every word you repeat is a form of conditioning.
So here's the truth:
If you're constantly feeding yourself disempowering language, you're training yourself to stay where you are.
And bluntly. Stop talking nonsense to yourself. Your mind is always listening.
A Different Dialogue
If you want a different trajectory, you need a different dialogue.
That's exactly why I built Self Talk Lab.
It's designed to help you recondition your internal voice using structured, guided audio. So you're not just thinking differently, you're training your brain to operate differently.
If you're serious about change, don't leave this to chance.
Start with your words. Then reinforce them daily.
