The river doesn't freeze in a day. But it doesn't rot in a day either.
"It takes more than one cold day for the river to freeze three feet deep." — Buddhist wisdom proverb
We usually quote that as inspiration. Proof that transformation takes time. But flip it over and you'll find an equally uncomfortable truth. It also took more than one bad day to build an undisciplined life.
Nobody wakes up one morning defeated. They got there through accumulation. Skipped commitment by skipped commitment. Excuse stacked on excuse. One small surrender leading to another. That's not failure. That's compound interest on the wrong investment.
The lethargy you feel? It didn't arrive overnight. It was constructed. Choice by choice.
Which means this. It can be deconstructed the same way.
One better choice today. Then another tomorrow. The river doesn't need to freeze. It needs to flow. And flow starts the moment you stop adding weight to what's been holding you still.
